The Rt Hon George Eustice MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary for farming, food and marine environment, was in Lincolnshire on Thursday 15 January with the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership (GLLEP) for the launch of the LEP Food Board and to visit the National Centre for Food Manufacturing (NCFM).

As part of his programme, Mr Eustice also visited QV Foods operations to see the Greater Lincolnshire fresh produce and food processing sector in action firsthand. Duncan Worth, QV Foods Chairman, and Andy Brown, Tamar Energy’s Holbeach AD Plant Manager, gave the Minister a tour of the 1.5MW AD plant to show how the QV Foods vegetable trimmings are converted into renewable energy and biofertiliser that is supplied back to QV Foods operations. Mr Worth commented that “there are many benefits including cheaper electricity, and we now have a supply of liquid biofertiliser to use on growing crops, saving us around £80,000 a year”.
