Tamar Energy has been shortlisted – twice – in the “AD team of the year” category of the AD & Biogas Industry 2015 Awards, in a year which has seen it add a further three operational AD plants to its national network.
The awards, held during the industry’s annual trade show on 1-2 July at the NEC in Birmingham, celebrate the best in innovation and achievement from the past year in AD and bioresources.
The Operations Team has been nominated for commissioning three large-scale AD plants in one year. And in the same "hero/team of the year" category, its innovative partnership with food producer QV Foods in Holbeach has also been shortlisted.
Meanwhile, Tamar Energy’s nomination of Essex County Council in the ‘Innovation in Community and Commercial Food Waste Collection’ category, has seen the local authority shortlisted for this prestigious award.
Cllr Kevin Bentley, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Economic Growth; Infrastructure; Waste & Recycling, said: “We’re very proud to be shortlisted for the AD & Biogas Award – we’re delighted with this industry recognition of Essex County Council’s strategy to recover the resources inherent in the organic source segregated waste collected, and realise the financial and environmental benefits to local households. Tamar Energy’s integrated organic waste treatment services for both green and food waste means it is supporting us in delivering this as quickly as possible.”
“Everyone at the company works hard to deliver Tamar Energy’s vision for a UK AD network,” said chief executive Willie Heller, “so it’s rewarding to have that recognised by our own industry body.”
