Tamar Energy’s Holbeach AD plant was delighted to host a visit from the REA UK Biogas course, run in association with IBBK of Germany, on 10 February. The course group of over 20 participants, from around Europe, were interested to observe the day-to-day running of an operational AD plant.
Andrew Brown, Tamar Energy’s Plant Manager, said “the participants were keen to understand the detail of our operational processes, and particularly appreciated the end-to-end controls in place”.
David Collins, REA Biogas Adviser and European Biogas Association Board member, said “The AD plant is a remarkable example of the best in recycling and renewable energy production, and I was very glad to see it for myself”.
Feedback from previous courses suggests participants gain insights into better plant design and construction material selection, plant efficiency and profitability, running costs reductions and improvements in-site health & safety. The course also covers a range of topics including safety, gas analysis and lessons learned from a study of 1600 AD plants in Germany. The course is based at St Ives, Cambridgeshire.
