Since January 2014 it has been a legal requirement in Scotland for food businesses to separate food waste, and food businesses producing over 50kg of food waste per week to present it for a food collection.

From 1 January 2016 food businesses producing more than 5kg a week also have to comply with the new waste regulations. For more information, visit Resource Efficient Scotland. Let’s see England do the same.
